Col's Body Shop – Terms & Conditions of Repair

Website Terms & Conditions

1. Estimate Only

All quotations and estimates are based on visible damage at the time of inspection. They are not a fixed price contract unless expressly stated in writing.

2. Additional Damage

Vehicles involved in accidents may contain hidden, secondary or structural damage not visible during the initial assessment. Additional parts, labour, repairs or calibrations identified during repairs may result in additional charges.

3. Authorisation of Additional Repairs

Where practical, Col’s Body Shop will notify the customer and seek approval before proceeding with additional chargeable repairs.

4. Vehicle Cleaning

The repair price covers only the authorised repair work. Vehicle detailing and cosmetic cleaning are not included unless specifically stated. Col’s Body Shop will clean repair-related areas as reasonably required. Full detailing, polishing, ceramic coating or other detailing services can be arranged at an additional cost when confirming the booking.

5. Parts Pricing and Availability

Parts pricing is subject to supplier price changes, freight costs, exchange rate fluctuations and availability.

6. Supplementary Repairs

Disassembly may reveal previous repairs, rust, corrosion, poor workmanship, hidden damage or non-genuine components not visible during estimating. These repairs may incur additional charges.

7. Deposit Requirement

A minimum 50% deposit is required before commencing private repairs unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. Payment Terms

Full payment is required upon completion and prior to vehicle release unless otherwise agreed in writing.

9. Vehicle Release

Col’s Body Shop reserves the right to retain possession of the vehicle until all outstanding amounts have been paid.

10. Storage Charges

Vehicles not collected within three (3) business days of completion notification may incur storage charges of $35.00 per day plus GST.

11. Customer Supplied Parts

No warranty is provided on customer supplied parts. Labour relating to customer supplied parts remains chargeable.

12. Warranty

Workmanship is warranted in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. Warranty excludes previous repairs, corrosion, misuse, neglect, normal wear and tear and customer supplied parts.

13. Sublet Repairs

Specialist repairs may be subcontracted where required and form part of the repair account.

14. Diagnostic Scanning and Calibration

Pre and post repair scanning, programming and calibration may be required and may incur additional charges.

15. Unforeseen Delays

Col’s Body Shop is not responsible for delays outside its reasonable control, including supplier or manufacturer delays.

16. Abandoned Vehicles

Uncollected vehicles may be subject to storage charges and action permitted under NSW legislation.

17. Photographic Records

Customers authorise Col’s Body Shop to photograph vehicles throughout the repair process.

18. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms limits any rights under Australian Consumer Law.

19. Dash Cameras & Recording Devices

Customers should disconnect or disable dash cameras and recording devices before leaving the vehicle. Col’s Body Shop may disconnect such devices while the vehicle is on-site to protect the privacy of staff, customers and contractors. No responsibility is accepted for recordings not captured during this period.

20. Personal Belongings & Vehicle Condition

Customers must remove all personal belongings and valuables before repairs. Col’s Body Shop accepts no responsibility for personal items left in the vehicle. Vehicles must be presented in a clean and hygienic condition. Where excessive dirt, rubbish, mould, pet hair, bodily fluids or contamination prevents safe or efficient repairs, a reasonable cleaning fee may be charged before repairs commence.

21. Fuel

Customers should ensure sufficient fuel is available for road testing and calibration. Additional fuel supplied may be charged.

22. Battery Condition

Vehicles must have a serviceable battery. Battery charging or replacement required to complete repairs may incur additional charges.

23. Wheel Alignment & ADAS Calibration

Modern vehicles may require wheel alignment and ADAS calibration following repairs. These manufacturer-required procedures may incur additional charges where not included in the original estimate.
